About Paul & Gina Smith
We’ve had a wide range of involvement in property over more than 30 years. It continues to be one of the major driving forces in our lives.
Paul’s involvement commenced with sales of rural properties while he was farming, before moving to the city where he spent 15 years in residential real estate and established multiple residential agencies. He later qualified as a property valuer and established a large commercial real estate office which grew to be a major force in commercial sales, leasing, valuation and management. His own personal record included the sale of individual commercial properties to $50 million and negotiating major leases, including a long-term lease in excess of 20,000 square metres of office space in a single building. Paul’s commercial real estate business included a building maintenance team providing a wide-range of preventative plant maintenance programs for management clients.
The management clientele ranged from major institutions, including banks and insurance companies, to smaller private investors. The management portfolio grew to approximately 200,000 square metres. Paul on-sold the business to a major commercial real estate company, after which he moved to property syndication and property development.
Gina is also a qualified valuer and has a background in sales, management and valuation of both residential and commercial property.
We have considerable knowledge in acquiring, managing, refurbishing and repositioning property for both investment and re-sale for cash flow. This has involved engaging real estate agents, property valuers and other property consultants and trades covering market research, negotiation, building and building services reports, and planning and compliance issues.
With this extensive background and life-long interest in property, and little readily available, independent information on investing in commercial property, we saw there was a need to assist people just starting out in commercial property investment and those moving from residential property investment to investment in commercial property.
